We are a uniquely focused organization, dedicated solely to producing chemical emergency management solutions that define the industry standard. Our latest product releases validate this. They bring to market an unrivaled set of innovative features unavailable in any other single solution. Some of the newest advances include:
Enhancements to Source Area Locator™
Source Area Locator™ (SAL) analyzes real-time meteorological data with chemical release data to help emergency responders identify the source area of a release. Version 10.1 incorporates a number of significant enhancements to Source Area Locator functionality including:
- SAL Release Area Probability Corridor— augments the calculated release point to provide an area in which to search for potential releases. Especially useful for those using fixed detection systems!
- SAL Export to Google Earth— exports and displays the SAL corridor and point result in Google Earth.
- SAL/Advanced Back Calculation (ABC) Integration— seamlessly run a dispersion model using ABC with data supplied by the SAL calculation.
- SAL with Manual and Historical Data— run SAL using data from any release time, past or present.
Sensor Display Enhancements
More plant sites are choosing to integrate sensors with SAFER Systems and increasing the number of overall sensors deployed. The new sensor display enhancements help make efficient use of the large amount of information produced.
- Sensor Marker Improved Visibility— sensors in alarm have larger markers to indicate trouble spots.
- Sensor Alarm List— provides a tab view of sensors in alarm for quick identification.
- Sensor Snapshot Tool— provides a quick look at individual sensor readings from the map toolbar.
Pre-Defined Scenario Enhancements
- Saves time by helping to select the appropriate scenario the first time.
- Previously, models would run without the user being able to view release parameters first.
- Allows the user to see the current inputs to the scenario at a glance, after various updates to the inputs have been made.
- After a run, increases the user’s ability to understand the overall picture of the release event.
Wind Chill/Heat Index and Max Wind Speed
- Provides a new met parameter for apparent "feels like" temperature, derived from standard heat index and wind chill calculations.
- New max wind speed met parameter helps monitor for dangerous wind conditions.
- Includes customizable indicator for level of concern.
- Great trackable parameters for monitoring the outdoor work environment!
Enhanced GIS data editing using Non-SAFER Generated Shape Files
- Provides automatic modification of a shape file for SAFER compatibility.
- Allows manual changes to the GIS data for updating information.
- Converts a shape file to a SAFER editable format.
NEW! Combustion Analysis Model
This new specialized model - available as a supplemental purchase for customers using the latest versions of SAFER Real-Time, SAFER Homeland or SAFER Hazmat Responder - was developed to support the unique environments and to address the fire and delayed ignition events that can occur in various sectors of the petroleum industry. It’s designed to also meet the needs of first responders and others who act in response to a variety of industrial fire situations in other settings.
- Analyzes a Tank Top, Pool, Stack or Jet, and Post-Dispersion fire.
- Calculates the products of combustion for typical fire sources.
- Determines downwind dispersion of combustion products, smoke particulate, and soot deposition.
- Transitions seamlessly from analyzing a toxic dispersion to products of combustion.
- Useful for assessing the impact of a delayed ignition of a toxic release
